ThinkPad R51 is faster, a bigger HHD, and better screen
ThinkPad T42 is more light, sturdy and durable
    --------------
    1. computing capability is not very important for me. I do not play game on my notebook.
    2. I prefer a light notebook. But I am not very sensitive about the wight of the notebook.
    3. I hope the computer should be durable.
    4. I prefer a bigger Hard disk and a better screen.
    5. The most important thing is that my budget is limited ($1600).

Making decision is just a kind of hard task sometimes[ :)].

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

    >From your post, sounds like you already made a decision[ :D]
Are you a psychologist?[ :D] Or maybe my preference is too obvious.[ ;)]

    >till you get to school and look at laptops in your computer store there.
    Thank you. I see.

    Hi alanzhao,
besides the differences you have listed.
Most R series models have a 1 year warranty while most T series have a 3 year warranty.
