I've got my finger over the button to order a 15.4" T61p with the Quadro 570m,T8300 2.4ghz and 4GB RAM, but am wondering how capable it will be playing COH:OF in DX9 at the LCD's native resolution of 1680x1050? Will I be able to get 30+ fps at medium settings? Thanks in advance to anyone that has one of these and has tried. If I can't play at that level I'll probably hold off for the next generation of thinkpads and hope they have updated the graphics to the next generation by then. COH is the only game I play.....

Sorry, but you might have to scale it down a bit in terms of textures, shaders, particle proc., and such, because I have a decent gaming computer, 8800gt, q6600 oc'd, and it lags a bit with dx9 on high at 1650x1050. I dont think it would look that bad at 1280x800, or 1440x900 though and that would definately help a bit. The X3100s' that they put in those machines are really lacking for a modern workhorse laptop I think.

He's talking about the 256GB 570M DDR3 video card, not the X3100. -
Check out my thread on Aquamark 3 benchmark scores:

I have installed Bioshock and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. so far and they play fine. -
mainly just hoping someone here plays COH:OF, has the T61p and has firsthand knowledge on how it runs at 1680x1050. I scoured the web looking for answers and the best I found were some initial benchmarks on the 8600m GT at 1600x1200 showing about 20 fps but no say on what settings those were.......
If I have to set some of the stuff to low that's fine- I just can't stand playing below the native resolutions..... -
If so please post a link to it and I will install it and see how it runs.

why order it with 4gb or ram...? just order it with one or two and install more yourself...save yourself a large chunk of change.
