Early R40s use Pentium 4-M CPUs.
Late R40s use more efficient Pentium M Banias CPUs (up to 1.5GHz).
Early R50s use Pentium M Banias CPUs (up to 1.7GHz).
R40s come with PC2100 RAM. R50s come with PC2700 RAM. You can probably upgrade yourself.
R40s videocard options include the 16MB Radeon and the 32MB Radeon 7500. R50s options include the 32MB Radeon 7500 and 32MB Radeon 9000.
R40s aren't available with WiFi-G as some R50s are. You can probably upgrade yourself.
R40s don't have the hard disk Active Protection System as R50s do.
15" SXGA+ R50s are Flexview screen. R40s aren't.
These are the main differences as far as I know. -
R40 aren't available with Wifi-G... Can't u buy those wireless internal card?? PC2100 ram?? I got PC2700 2 GB in this pc running... I using Pentium 4 Non Mobile do the R50s have just P4 as well??
IS IT WORTH buying the R50?? Yeah it has maybe a radeon 9000 but what can ya use it for? The 9000 anit gonna play games. Same with this 7500...
Anyway the R50 and R40 doesn't give u a GREAT GREAT change that I don't need to upgrade right? From what I can see. -
