Within the next day i'am going to buy my first Notebook. Right now i'am decided for the t60 from lenovo, second choice would be maybe the new 14" widscreen from MSI (s420).
From time to time i'd like to do some coloring stuff in Photoshop. The Display dont have to be colorcalibrated but shoud be "more or less" correct.
I currently worked on a msi s260 12" with very vivid color (glare-type), but the screen had a slightly red-tone (maybe it's possible to correct this a bit with adobe gamma-corrector).
the choice for t60 is because i'am realy grown to 4:3 mate Displays!!! What do you think, am i running into problem while doing some coloration stuff on a t60 14" 1400*1050 or it is usable?
(i don't need to do that outdoor under sunlight !!!)

I've had glare-type screens before and colors surely look much more alive than matt screens.
In terms of color, I don't have any issue on the SXGA screen of my T60 but I'm not really that picky. It might be difficult to determine if LCD's color is good enough for you from pictures so I guess your best bet is to visit your local computer store. -
OfficeDepot carries ThinkPads if you want to have a look.

well, looking at the review just posted in the news and reviews section, that person's SXGA 14" screen seems to have a definite color cast, and the viewing angles could make things tricky as well. I bought a 15" T43 with the Flexview screen just for the benefits in photo editing.

Joeycyw is saying in his review, that the t60 has a better screen than his $400 View sonic LCD monitor!!!

Myself i've an old Eizo 17", guess it's a L575, at home. It's realy not the best screen, but good enough for me -
Unfortunatly, i've no possibility to see one in real:/
I've now a Thinkpad a21m in front of me, ...maybe it's not very meaningful, but what do you think ... are there big inproves compared to the t60?
I've also the possibility to look at a 15" R-Type two years old Thinkpad.. -
The ThinkPad FlexView screens are the best matte screens you will find. They are bright with good contrast and are color consistent from one corner to the other. Also have good viewing angles. Unfortunetly they are only offered on the T series 15" SXGA+ and UXGA+ screens which makes them a little less portable than the 14". Some of the older R series have them as well, but the new R60 does not. The rest of the ThinkPad screens are typical matte screens with all their inherent limitations.
