I'm looking to purchase a T60 for my business. Anything I should know before I take the plunge? I heard someone saying something about price drops at the end of this month. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to keep up with with computer news lately, so I don't have any idea what's coming down the pipeline. Also, please note that I am in Canada. If anyone knows a good retailer for Lenovos here, please let me know (or am I just better off ordering online directly?). Thanks!

What kind of configuration are you looking to buy? Intel will be dropping processor prices next week, whether Lenovo decides to pass on the savings -- well, that's up to them and how the rest of the industry reacts to Intel price cuts. I'm sure it'd save about $50 eventually, question is, is that worth waiting weeks for? In most cases it's not.

buying in canada and using a VISA card to pay, go to
http://caipsgws001.can.ibm.com/store/page?cpage=notebook_secondary&status=0&tool=0&cells=0&title=0&bannerkey=0&ca=lftnavnotebooks&aud=EA1VISA
It's discount with visa card through lenovo, on many models.
It's lenovo official website btw in case you are wondering. you MUST use a visa card to make the payment to get the discount.
I just saved you hundreds of dollars, dont wait if you need one now! -
I'm not sure about the configuration... it's primarily for general office stuff (email, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, etc.), so maybe 512MB RAM, 60GB HD, and... any suggestions for a processor? I don't think I'll need a dedicated graphics card, although I wouldn't mind. There IS a possibility I might be doing some design work (PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) on this machine.
Unfortunately, I do not have a Visa card (MasterCard over here). Any other known discounts? -
Just any of the Core Duos.
Clueless and about to buy a T60
