I saw someone post about updating the Synaptics driver for the clickpad and I decided to do so. I cannot believe the versatility one simple driver has brought to this clickpad. Now, this clickpad can be a touchpad (one-click can be shut off) and tons of other new things were added.

This is a photo of the new Synaptics control panel.

Basically this driver update erases one "major problem" many people had with these two laptops.

Give the one-click option a chance. It will take a bit to get used to, but it is actually really useful. Just a tip.

As soon as I saw the update I knew there had to be others that wanted it. :) No problem.

awesome thank you very much maybe it'll be more stable now who knows (IMO it was never as bad as some people had made it out to be, but then again I never had the ELAN touchpad which seems to have been the problem for most)

on the 750M? There is a 320.00 driver update that one member posted in overclock thread. I'd post it but I'm on my phone.

That's just a link to the 320.00 drivers on Geforce.com, which I downloaded a bit ago to update the 750M in my Y400 and it said "no supported cards found" so I doubt it'd work on the Y500 with the same card.

I updated to the newest beta drivers by inputting my card is the 740M and it worked perfectly fine. I haven't done any gaming to see any improvements, yet.

You sure you didn't just download it? It's not that the website won't let you download the drivers, it's just that when you go to install them it says there's no compatible graphix cards detected. It doesn't let you select the card you have during the install...

Ya I installed them too but you can't install them with just the default drivers you download off the Geforce website, you have to hax the INF file to make it work. Even the new drivers that just came out, 320.18, doesn't support the 700M series past the 740M for some odd reason.

I didn't hack anything.. I literally downloaded them then clicked on the file and did express install and my screen flashed a little and it finished in a few minutes...
