    Hello everyone,

Firstly thank you to everyone who contributes so helpfully to this forum - your advice and insights have proven invaluable.

I'm now a week into ownership of my brand new T61, but I'm noticing the rubberized coating on the lid constantly looks dirty, and it's impossible to brush dust etc off it without it smudging across. I've also somehow managed to get a couple of greasy fingerprints and a small scratch (which has since filled with dust and now stands out like a sore thumb) on the outer surface of the lid. Is there any simple way to keep this clean? I don't use it in particularly dusty environments, but it does often end up on the bedroom floor most nights.

Looking at my laptop at the moment, it looks like it's been through a couple of world wars, certainly not like a 7 day old £1,000 premium product.

Water with a little soap (liquid usually) and paper kitchen towels - magically keeps the dust away... works with a two years old Z60t.

i found that windex wipes do a great job on the entire laptop except the screen.

windex spray on the case i assume would be just as good

I just use a microfiber cloth (got a large pack of 20 from Costco in the automotive section), and some mild dishsoap and water when there are tougher to clean oily marks on the cover. Most of the time, the microfiber with a bit of water will do the trick.
