This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I, like many others, would like to install windows XP without all of the other lenovo stuff. If you do not have the recovery media it is difficult to find the media (and a pain even if you do).

    I just wanted to point out that I found a download that will accept my OEM COA. Information can be found here:



    This is simply a listing to a usenet post, nothing illegal is contained in this link. I am not sure if this is against the forum policy or not to post this, so please remove if it is. I contend that this is not piracy, as you are using the license you purchased with this install media.

    I did not install from this cd completely, but started to install it VMWARE and it accepted my product key from under my laptop. If you are interested there are many good FAQs on downloading from usenet.
