    Clean Install Y510P using Dell Windows 8 Recovery Disk

    Hi Guys,

    I am planning to do a clean install of my Y510P. Tried calling Lenovo in order to get a recover disk, but being asked $70 :(.

    I do have another laptop from Dell, which does have a recovery dvd disk.

    Just wondering if I can use the same for clean install on Y510P.

    Any thoughts, suggestions?

    You're better off following this guide than using a Dell recovery disc: Windows 8 Upgrade ISO - Download or Create

    The link you have posted does mentioned following:

    You will not be able to use a factory OEM Windows 8 product key with a retail Windows 8 ISO file.

    When I keyed my windows key (preinstalled), its say not compatible key.
