I just did a clean install on my laptop using the guide found in this forum. I used vLite to write the WAU folder into an ISO and installed using that. However after activating I noticed that the windows only showed 3 GB RAM. I remember distinctly that in the original installation it had shown 4 GB RAM. Also I used ABR to store the keys in that version.

Why is that my clean install only shows 3 GB? Is there anyway that the previous install could have been 64bit? Also I havn't deleted my recovery disks. Is there any chance that the one on the recovery disks could be 64bit? If yes, any way to install from them, directly? Since I do not posses a DVD burner.

BTW I had purchased Vista Home Premum 32 bit as far as I can remember. But I am sure of seeing 4 GB RAM on my system in the beginning(It used to show on the Welcome Center Screen).

SP1 reports the amount of RAM present (not used), which could explain it.

I was under the impression that 32 bit Vista was only capable of using 3 GB. that's what I've seen when ordering HP's.
