I was hoping they would have started already since people have already begun Christmas shopping, but nothing has been listed on the site yet. Does anyone have an idea when the sales will start because I would really like to put my T61p order in. :>

Labor Day was really the best time to buy a Thinkpad.

Don't keep your hopes up. Even if they put on a Xmas sale, the earliest you will get delivery will be probably sometime in Feb.

I am waiting for Christmas sales too. I missed big labor sales because I just decided to buy a laptop. Could anybody tell me how much you save in labor sales? I am just curious and want to compare it with future sales

    thanks,
    JJCPA

It was easily 300 dollars or so. I configured a T61p with a T7300, 2x1GB, 100GB 7200RPM, Quadro 570M 256MB, Vista Home Premium, and a 3 year mail-in warranty for just under $1400. I bought a Dell instead, which I later returned because the keyboard sucked.

I just configure Lenono vs Dell Vostro 1500 and Inspiron 1500.

    T61
    T7300
    100GB/7200
    2GB memory
    15.4 WSXGA+ TFT
    NVS 140M (128MB)
    $1194

    Vostro 1500
    T7300
    120GB/5400
    2GB
    15.4 WSXGA+
    same kind of video card
    $959

    Inspiron 1520
    T7500
    120GB/5400
    2GB
    15.4 WSXGA+
    same kind of video card
    $1068

I am using an old Toshiba now and never had a chance to work with either IBM or Dell's laptops. CPU/memory/screen are the important factors for me to do photoshop cs3. The above have pretty much same cpu and memory, but I also want a good build quality one especially screen for photo editing (no game at all). Is it worth to pay $250 extra for T61?

    thanks,
    JJCPA

I been checking for a good Thinkpad sale for awhile and I must say that one of the best deal ever offered was on the outlet. The only catch being the inventory is limited (especially for those under 1k and loaded specs) and it's not quite updated in real time.

I am also ready to order. Are the 15th anniversay sale prices not compeitive with the Labor day prices. $1500 for a T61p seems like a great deal. I feel like an arrse for not looking back then.

did anybody get from outlet? I saw there are many good deals. I have several quesitons for them.
    1. Are they new? (Lenovo says yes)
    2. when warranty start? The time I purchase it or the date previous owner ordered it
    3. How do I know the deals still there? Should I call them to confirm?

    thanks,

    JJCPA

the reason why the labor day sale was spectacular was because, not only did they give us a 15% off coupon, all the upgrades were reduced too....I got my turbo memory upgrade for $26 instead of the normal 50 and then the 15% off on top of that too. I would imagine that if they did have have a Christmas sale, It will be right after thanksgiving when Black Friday hits

    1) Yes, typing on one right now
    2) Should be the time of your purchase (still have not been registered or anything when I got my hand on mine)
    3) Go one one of those deal site such as fatwallet or slickdeals and check their most up-to-date list. Those are the one available (or at least closest to being available as possible). Make a list of whatever you think is best (and I recommend a very long list, since whatever you think is a good deal, a thousand others would probably think so too).

Last time I jump on mine, I wake up right at 8 (when they open and a good 14 of the 15 on my list were already gone). At this price for an IBM is a very opportunity (still kicking myself for missing out on that loaded T61 for around $680 or so)

Is there any tie in to current EPP prices and the 15th anniversay sale? In otherwords are EPP prices also lowered during the sale?

Lenovo today posted NEW SALE PRICES until October 31. They are nearly as low as the previous Anniversary Sale prices. Furthermore, if you go to the Master Card or Visa sites and click on the Lenovo link, you will go into the IBM Shareholder discount site, which has the absolute lowest prices! (Don't know how much longer this will last, Lenovo does this from time to time when the Visa and Master Card Lenovo sites are not available.)

They are now saying that ordering the DVD burner will delay shipment 3-4 weeks.

I just noticed that as well.

The prices are low again so I will be putting in an order this week probably. But there seems to be massive delays on a lot of their upgrades. :\

*sigh* Makes me wonder if I even want to do business with this company.

I put an order yesterday. When you check out, you still can upgrade to 9 cell battery. I expected a big delay
