Below are my choices, the only differences are the screens!

I can't find a 14" with IPS and an X1400, just one or the other (this sucks!).

There are IPS 14" but with X1300. The X1400 is much better for gaming.

Is the flexview worth the extra cash, physical size, decrease in battery life, and mobility? HOW GOOD IS FLEXVIEW?

I ordered 200762u on wed. Portability is very important for me. I heard flex view is worth the extra cash, if size and battery life are not important for you.
here are some pictures of the flex screen.

In my opinion, Flexview is the best screen I have seen on a laptop. Insane veiwing angles and the colors are not too saturated and not to washed out. Its like right there.

Then you should get the X60. It's WAY more portable than the bulky 14.1" T60. I know because I have both. I hate carrying the T60.
The IPS flexview screen is awesome, but I'd hate to lug it around daily.

There is no 14" IPS. Everyone is different. I used to lug around an eight pound Compaq in a backpack. It never bothered me. I'd probably make do with the 14" just cause I much prefer SXGA+.

Thanks. But I like 14" better.
BTW, do you know if they currently have 200762U in stock? I need it soon.

Unless you don't have a desktop I think Flexview costs too much. I spent 300 and change on a 21 inch IPS panel for the desktop and got a WS T60. That said the WS isn't as portable like the 14 inch but neither is the 15 IPS, it is bigger and heavier than that 15.4 wide... Really a 14 IPS SXGA+ would have been ideal but it doesn't exist. I'm not sure I would invest in a thinkpad as a gaming laptop. I'd buy stuff that would only last a few years as it won't play games in a few years anyway. Pretty much anything lasts 2 years... Any there are tons of things cheaper than thinkpads.

I got a thinkpad because in 5 years 80% of what I need a laptop for will be exactly the same, and I expect the Thinkpad will still be ticking.

If you phone and ask, they will advise you of the inventory situation. That one might not in stock in canada. I only have accesss to U.S. inventory levels.

Bunny, what I can't figure out is: Once all of the stuff has been attached to the outside of an X, like batteries and all, in order to transform it into a notebook, isn't it then as big as a T anyway?

No, even with all the bells and whistles, an x will always be lighter than a T series. Besides, what exactly can you add that would increase the weight that much anyway? Even with extended battery it's a lot lighter.

I,m not sure if i have been following this correctly... but the OP said there was a 14 inch ips and i found this model 200744U which says 14.1 inch ips (with x1300 as the OP said) so not sure about the comments that there isn,t a 14 inch ips? Was that to mean no 14 inch ips with x1400 like the OP said?

I went through this too while looking at the inventory lists. I was assured that it was a typo. If you call them and hear different let us know!
