I am about to buy an x60, yet am interested in purchasing a second 8 cell battery so I can have a rediculous amount of time away from a power outlet. My question is how to go about charging them. Would I have to charge one at a time in the notebook? That seems that it would get quite annoying. Does anyone lse do this/another method and could they could tell me their thoughts on it? Lastly, how many recharge cycles do IBM batteries typically last? Would they hold a good charge for two years if used daily?

I believe you can also purchase a standalone charger for that 2nd battery

though not listed, I'm 99% sure this battery charger would work for the X60 just fine:

Also, in using an X41 for a year with an 8-cell battery I've basically found that the life is down to about 60% of what it was and really want to get a new one. So, if you use a notebook on battery a least a little every day like I basically have, I'd say count on replacing it in a year.
Charging two batteries for the x60?
