    Charged but no confirmation email?

    I ordered a laptop from the lenovo outlet last week and now there's a charge for it on my online banking information, but I haven't received any confirmation email about the order. Does that mean that it has already shipped and but they are behind on the emails? Or am I getting my hopes up?

    Did you save your receipt from checkout? Call and ask about it.

    usually I don't think they charge until they ship, so odds are it's on its way. I had a situation happen where they had an old email address on file for me that I didn't have access to anymore, so when I placed my order I never received any emails either...

    I also read somewhere that Lenovo puts authorization holds on your account just to make sure that you have enough money in your account, and then the hold dissapears and then they won't actually charge until they ship it out. Could this also be the case, or do they only charge when they ship it out?

    Well did you actually see a charge posted...? If there is just a hold on the credit then a charge wouldn't show up. Or is this debit...

    Debit doesn't have a line of credit so they are temporarily holding the funds. So I am not sure if they actually shipped it. I would call and ask but I have heard that the outlet orders don't have very good tracking at all...

    I ordered last week too and haven't received a confirmation. I payed paypal. I'm sure they are behind on orders and it has NOT shipped. If you're anxious then call them, I will on Monday but I was already told to give them more than 1-2 days to get the email. I also read posts like this before so I took screen shots of the product page and my order number page.

    I will probably cancel the order and get a Thinkpad off ebay. I really need it soon and can't wait much longer. Hmm...how am I going to cancel without any confirmation number or order number?

    You didn't save any of that information when you ordered...? And considering it is from the outlet that might be extremely difficult if they don't have a good system in place to monitor order status. But you need to call basically.

    Dont worry, it happens with the outlet. happened to me last year when i ordered my machine last year. i got worried whn they did not dispatch confirmation mail, so i called them up after 4 days, they replied the machine is going through some testing process and will be dispatched. funny i received the machine the next day. i did not receive any shipping mail

    Ugh...I don't know whether or not it is safe to order another computer or to wait for this one to come, knowing how the Lenovo outlet doesn't really keep track of its orders that well. I don't know what to do now. If it comes and I don't open it, can I send it back for a full refund? But if I wait and it doesn't come for a while I'm kind of screwed as well.

    So I just called them about my order. I gave them my first and last name (even though I saved all other info) and they were able to find an order confirmation for it They said it was processed friday but for some reason I didn't get an email. I wrote down the order confirm number and they say it will ship out next friday. They also said I'm getting a French Canadian keyboard lol and that It's my problem having to replace it if I want.

    My advise to you is to wait. The Outlet store clearly states that it will ship 7 days after the confirmation email so you couldn't have been in too dire of a rush to get it. It's not like they are going to rip you off outright so just be patient with it, if you can. Besides, I have a strong suspicion those ebay sellers just resell stuff they bought from the outlet. That's why all of them say they had to open it to replace the RAM. They are really checking to make sure all the parts are there.

    I'm in the same boat as you. I bought it on the 18th saturday and never reiceved an email confirmation. I wish I saved the screen that said I bought it. I'm confident it will arrive within a week tho so I'm not afraid, just itching to hold my laptop.

    Same thing here. No email after two days. I did print out the checkout. It has order id, but it is an 8 digit number that can't be entered on the Order Status web page, and I don't know my customer number either.

    Larkin: I called and was told that they cannot pull out information based on name/email/phone#; they didn't even try though.

    Hend: Why are you confident that it'll arrive this week when you ordered on the 18th? I ordered on the 14th and still no email...

    I've called each day for the past three days and each time they tell me they can't do anything about it/they're backed up with orders/I should wait another day. I'll try again though I guess.

    So I called and the representative was able to pull up my information. Apparently, the order has been in processing for a while but they never sent me a confirmation email, but they just did. The estimated shipping date is 4/24/09 (which I really hope they can keep), but they had my shipping address wrong. I indicated that they ship to an address other than my billing address, but that wasn't the case, so I had to change that over the phone. Hopefully it goes smoothly from here.

    My order status says that my laptop has shipped, but the money charged has been put back into my account. Why is that? Does it mean that my laptop actually hasn't shipped?

    Also, I changed my shipping address for the item yesterday, and the item shipped today. Do you think that they will actually ship to the new address? And where does the outlet ship from? China or North Carolina?

    From real experience, the tracking # may never appear, ever.

    I doubt that. You may get information faster, but I doubt they'd expedite the shipping just because you called.

    I finally got confirmation email after 3 business days, though not sure if it's because I called.

    I called in and they gave me the tracking number, which did not appear on the order status page. They are sending it to the wrong address though! :( I asked them to change the shipping address on it two days ago but apparently it left the facility the day before that. If they had sent the confirmation email earlier I would have been able to change the address on time. The address they are sending it to is my home address, which is across the country. How can I get UPS to ship it to the right address? I called UPS and they said to wait for it to get to that address and then have it redirected. How long will that take? This whole process taking a long time...

    I called today and they gave me my order number as well as my ship date: 4/29. A little later than I wanted but I do not need this laptop until I start school this fall. I just hate waiting!

    Hmm sighhhhhh. So I called and yeah, pushed back a week. Could have used that lapop for my vacation May 2nd but oh well, can't have it all. Dude said that for some reason orders jumped 10x the week of the 15th (when I ordered it) so they are a bit backlogged.

    update 4/24: looks like it shipped today even though the status page pushed it back a week. that's good news.
    Hend your order may have shipped today too if you placed the order last week.

    update 4/29: Got a notification that it has been delivered! Cool.
