I recently (12.07.06) order T60 with Fingerprint reader and estimate date of shipment is 12.21.06. After going through several posts here, finger print reader is useless. So I want to remove fingerprint reader from my order. Does anyone has any idea that I can chage my order status befor shipment? Earliest response will be appreciated. - Kaji

If you remove it you will essentially be putting in a different order (you get a new order #) and will be sent to the back of the line.

I find that my fingerprint reader works just fine. It's only $30 anyways, is that worth an extra couple weeks of waiting?

I sent email to my representative to remove fingerprint reader from my order. Hmmm.... few more weeks to wait...??? Let's see what happens.

But I don't understand why they are so late on shipment. I found one of the user's order with same date and specifications has alrady been shipped and mine is still in procress? What the hack is this?

    My Order Specifications are:
    T60 14.1" SXGA+ Bluetooth, Core 2 T7200 2.0 GHz, ATI X1400 128 MB, 1GB SDRAM (2 DIMM), 60GB HD 7200rpm, DVD Recordable Dual Layer, Fingerprint Reader, ThinkPad 11a/b/g, Warranty 3 year depot repair, Price: $1418 + Tax $63.45 = $1481.45

I attempted to make a change on my initial Z60T order, actually add the fingerprint reader. The response - cancel your order, and start a new one. This was just after placing the order.

    On edit:

I just noticed you have a nearly identical system to the one I ordered on 12/10. Mine just shipped yesterday.

How is the fingerprint reader useless? I have entered all my passwords once, and now I have never again needed to enter a password for anything. It's wonderful.

The price I quoted earlier was during holidays sale offer. If I have to re-order now I have to pay $100 more. Hmmmm. I think I should give a call to my rep.
