How many of you use a Cellular Carrier as a Wireless Modem Connection?

    I use two wireless connections:

1.) Wifi (Home, Starbucks, McDonalds where it HOT - 40% in Las Colinas/Irving, TX)
2.) Sprint PPC-6700 - Sprint EVDO wireless network (everywhere)

I do it for now, but I'm looking at getting a dedicated wireless broadband card from Sprint, although my phone service is through Verizon. The fact that Verizon puts a limit on the amount you can download per month, and can cancel your service of you exceed it, crosses them off my list.

I use CDMA when traveling and although slower than WIFI the uniquity of it is priceless. If your cell phone works wherever you are then you can get Internet. I highly recommend it provided the pricing plan is favorable.

Do they really do this? I know they say they will but friends who have it, tell me that's ridiculous.

I use my AT&T service and my 8525 for internet when traveling. Most cities have HSDPA now so I get broadband speed by tethering my laptop to my phone. I do not foresee changing this setup. BTW no throttling occurs on my AT&T plan I have used over a GB of data in several billing cycles before with no issues.

I have my Sprint Blackberry tethered to my laptop when I am on the road I avoid all those annoying daily charges. I wish it was faster, but hey with the next revision it will be :)
