Hmm is there a case that would provide enough protection to hold UltraBay devices? I need to carry around my Optical drive in case I need to burn various CDs. But it would also need to be big enough for the battery and probably the harddrive adapter.

I was fortune enough to receive a nylon case with my DVD/R+/-DL optical drive and I have had it for about 1 year. It has protected my optical drive great. I found one on ebay for you, it comes with a HD adapter: http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-ThinkPad-Ul...2QQihZ005QQcategoryZ74949QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Hope this helps.

Hmm, I wonder if a case would come if I buy a new Ultrabay SATA adapter since I'm planning on doing that. It's going to take forever for a 7200RPM 200gig harddrive to come around so I think I'm going to settle for a 2nd internal drive. The battery doesn't really need a case so that would do. Anyone that bought an Ultrabay SATA adapter for a z61 series have a case come with it?

I have to apoligize, I was under the assumption you were looking Ultrabay "2000".
