    Dear All,

What is the best carrying case with durability and cushion that you recommend for Thinkpad Laptops.

    Thanks in advance.

Some people swear by WaterField bags. I personally have no experience with their products. You can search this site for "WaterField" to find relevant posts.

I'm using a Mobile Edge Express backpack right now for my z61m, and it seems to be holding up well so far. I regret that it's not waterproof though.

When I order my T60 I also ordered a "ThinkPad Leather Premier Carrying Case" with it...$89 discounted when you purchase it with an order. It is absolutely classy; like a fine piece of luggage with the colored IBM logo on it. The slot for the T60 is padded on sides and bottom...like 1" thick. The are at least 6 other compartments with zippers for papers or a book. Really nice and your office will smell like leather for a few days...an added bonus! :)

I was using a padded bag but am now using a IBM backpack due to needing a bit more storage space with it.

I would be interested in seeing one of those WaterField bags in person. The laptop sleeve looks appealing, but is that enough to be placed into a backpack being carried throughout the day? I understand it will protect the laptop from scratches and markings, but what about larger bumps and moving abouts WHILE in the sleeve?

I think the sleeve provides enough protection as long as you don't carry rocks in the same backpack and/or drop the backpack to the floor with greater force than the ThinkPad can handle.

Targus Air-Protection. I had my very not durable (touch it wrong while it's running and the board will flex and it will crash) HP laptop in one, turned on (long story), slipped and fell on some ice, first hitting the ground with the laptop case then landing on top of it. I thought for sure it was broken. Not a scratch.

I think I'm just going to go with the nylon ThinkPad case. Does anyone own this and have any complaints about it?

I don't know how you can go wrong with a ThinkPad case. The leather one I got is beautiful, and if you get a true ThinkPad brand it should have the name on it too! They just "fit" together.

Lol. I guess you're right. So then you already got your T60?

    Matt

Wonder how the nylon ThinkPad bag stacks up against the competition.

Hopefully their Bags and Cases are the same quality that their ThinkPads are; SUPERIOR :) When I was looking for mine, I found NO reviews of them at all; I took the chance with the ThinkPad brand figuring it would be branded and made well if a business traveler would put it through its paces. I like their logo and I like things to match (I know...anal).
