Where can I get a card to use with the smart card reader on my T61p? A friend of mine has an Acer with a smart card, and his came with two cards, but from what I hear the Lenovo does not ship with a card?

Will any iso 7816 card work, or is there something special?

Can you use this instead of the finger print, or in addition to?

If you use the card to authenticate, does it lock down if you remove the card (in Vista Ultimate)? I understand that this is a feature of the OS, just trying to figure out what I could do with it.

the cards are fairly standard. You can find them from $20-40 doing a google search.

The card should work in addition to the fingerprint reader. Unless you have a network with a properly setup PKI infrastructure - you wont be using the card to logon as it would need to authenticate your certificate with something.

On the other hand, you should be able to store some certificates on it though if only for digital signatures and whatnot for email...there are plenty of free CA services out there.
