I'm getting the message when trying to install windows on my new ssd in msata slot.

Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On Efi systems, windows can only be installed to GPT discs.

I have a lenovo y500 with 1tb hdd sata already.

    Any ideas?

Boot a Gparted live usb or dvd, create a new GPT partition table on the drive then install windows via UEFI.
