Hi! Problem is I cannot connect the laptop to the TV, I cannot see anything on the TV and I've tried many things:

    Laptop is IBM R51 with s-video tv-out
Intel graphics controller 82852/82855 GM/GME with driver 6.14.10.3619
    Intel AIM 3.0 CodecDriver CH-7009-A/CH-7011

I'm using an s-video cable -> adaptor to scart -> TV. Tried both input/output on adaptor, and all av options on TV.

Tried HV expansion on/off in BIOS.

    Tried hardware acceleration on/off.

Tried different resolutions, extended display, etc.

All the above restarting laptop with tv on each time.

But I can NEVER see the television option in the display settings, so I cannot select it. I'm pretty sure cable and adaptor are fine. I'm going mad here! I'll be eternally grateful if you could help.

    Thanks!

sometimes the windows screen doesnt see the tv and doesnt allow you to connect. Try going into the graphics card program and doing it from there. Im speaking from using ATI control centre where it always works for me. I'm not sure of your setup- hope it helps. Also check the pins on the s-video cable because they often bend.

Thanks for the reply. Cable seems to be fine. I suppose you mean, in my case, the Intel(R) Extreme Graphics 2 for Mobile tab in display properties. TV is not an option, so I can't select it. I have also tried right clicking on the 2nd monitor, then "attached", still nothing...... Any other ideas, please?

Have you tried using the ThinkPad Configuration program?

I'm afraid I did. I think it's just another way of configuring the laptop, but as previously, there's no TV or TV-Out or S-Video option to be seen.
