    Laptop: IBM T60p
    Operating System: Vista Business

I am not able to connect to Wireless networks which are using SSID, and a Shared WEP key using Thinkvantage Access Connection. I can see the problem in diagnostics where the Access point authentication being used is Open instead of Shared. I believe it is a bug with IBM's Access Connection software. The tech support has not been able to help. I am wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem and has been able to resolve it.

yeah i've had nothing but problems iwth access connections, u have to physically go in deep into the program to connect to a secure ssid, u gotta specify what ype etc, its ludicrous,
i uninstalled it weeks ago and never been happier, but windows is too plain for me and deosnt give some advanced info, last week i installed intel pro software, and man its the most perfect package available, go to intel site and download it, the tray icon shows colors (yellow= found connections, red = no connections found, green=connected) plus its faster than windows and access connections on connecting when u first flip the switch, and when connecting to a secure conenection, it auto detects security type and asks u 1 time for password, thats the wireless adapter u prob have so y not use what the manuf of the product gives u for the best compatibility

A slightly different problem. Recently, I visited a friend in a different city who also uses WEP protection on his home network. It took me 2 days to make a ThinkVantage Access connection into his network which I save on my X41 laptop. I just checked and the saved connection is now GONE. So this probably mean more "hell on earth" next time I visit that location again.

My previous laptop (an X40) saved those kinds of connections in the profile for future use. Anyone else have this same problem where saved WEP profiles have disappeared?
