I tried to call in and cancel my order, but the CC area was closed
I sent an e-mail, but I am not sure how well that would work.
Please let me know if e-mail is valid request for order cancellation or if I have to call them in.

Not sure, but if you don't get an official confirmation, I'd make sure to call them pronto. If your order gets to manufacturing, I think they charge a fee to cancel.

Heres my story:
I called them during CC hours yesterday morning about cancelling an order. This is less than 24 hours of submiting my order online. The rep said that the order has already been sent to the factory for production. The rep told me that he will send a message to the factory to cancel my order. He also told me he will email me within 48 hours on the status. Tomorrow morning will be 48 hours, so i guess I will be giving them a call then.
I recommend just calling in because thats the most surefire way. -
