Hello I order a x61s last week and it's still in process. I found another laptop I like so I'm going to cancel my current order on the lenovo. Would they still charge me if I cancel my order?

No, if you cancel the order before it is shipped. You must make sure you get a cancellation e-mail or the status on-line is changed to "cancelled". Many ppl reported that their laptops were still shipped even though they did call to cancel the orders. If it's shipped, you have to pay the 15% restocking fee to get it returned.

I would suggest call multiple times to make sure everything is done correctly.

I don't believe you get charged if it actually ships. Just call when you receive it and get a RMA. Just don't open it and you should be alright.

    See the return policy: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...ndingPage=/All/US/Shopping_FAQ/returns_policy

    The first sentence is ambiguous:

To get a full refund, do you only have to have it sealed/unopened? OR it has also to be in cases of Lenovo error? What if it's opened but in cases of Lenovo error?

Thanks for the reply, heres a email from them

Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad and ThinkCentre products.

We have received your email regarding your order.

Please note, your order is already in progress at our warehouse. A cancellation notice
has been sent to the warehouse to stop processing it, so the actual cancellation of your
order may take up to 48 business hours. You will be able to see when your order is
cancelled when the on-line order status tool fails to work for your order and customer numbers.

In some rare cases, the order is too far along in processing to be stopped, and ships. If this
occurs, please accept the delivery of the package, and contact us back for a full return. Refusing
delivery of the package will result in a 15% restocking fee.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reply to this email, or to call
us at 1-866-42-THINK (428-4465). We will be happy to assist you further at that time.

Once again, thank you for contacting Lenovo.

    Sincerely,
    Lenovo Websales

I called the CS to cancel my order before it shipped. I told them that i am going out of the country so i won't be able to receive the laptop (the estimated ship date show 1/9/08).

I spent 5 minute to cancel the other. Never received any email about the cancel order. However, the fund that was hold for the laptop is released and i never receive the system
