I placed an order for a thinkpad t61 on July 20. My estimated shipping date was set for 8/22. About two weeks later, I decided to call Lenovo to make a few minor changes. The sales rep told me he would email me a new quote within 48 hours. 48 hours has passed up. Called Lenovo again, waited 30+ minutes and was givin the same response: wait 48hours and check again on website.
It is getting frustrating, and from what I see on these forums, some people who have placed an order near the end of the month might not get their notebooks till September; I need the notebook for grad school before Labour Day, at least. Also, I have some concerns that the numerous discounts I applied to my t61. They told me they have to cancel my previous order and place a new order with the processor upgrades and vista business.
I'm strongly contemplating just telling them to cancel the whole order and go ahead and pay the extra $300+ to purchase a Macbook Pro.
Interested in hearing what everyone elses responses are.

Get a Dell Latitude D830. Very comparable to the T61, and the Dell Business support is supposedly pretty decent.
