Am I allowed to cancel a CTO order as long as it hasn't shipped?
-
I was able to on my X120.
When I first called CS, they said it would be cancelled and I would be receiving a notice via email.
It never happened. I called back several times and they said it was done, but I could still log on and check my order, which showed in progress.
When I spoke to a salesmen, he was able to cancel immediately; I checked the order and it was no longer valid. -
sometime people call to cancel to speed up the shipping process!

I cancelled mine but it took me numerous calls to confirm it had been cancelled.

I called to cancel my order Friday and it still shows a shipping date early next week when I check my status. She told me I would get an email confirmation when it was cancelled. I already recieved my mouse and a headset, and I plan to reorder the w520 with a different config. Not sure if I will have to send the mouse and headset back and start from scratch when I reorder, or if they just charge me for the mouse and headset so I don't have to send it back and reorder. I hope they don't send the computer, but I know there is a delay between what goes on at customer service and the warehouse.

the ordering system is bad but there's no truth that calling in to cancel an order is going to somehow accelerate the system getting built sooner and out the door quicker to the buyer. -
Apparently there is a 'priority list' you can get on. Don't know if there is truth to that. I have anecdotal evidence that their shipping dates and order fulfillment queue are both governed by a random nmber generator...
