    how did you find out it was using intel hd 4000?

    ohh man.. thats good news :) and im guessing he knew cause it was lagging.... i know in my m14x the intel HD3000 is only 1/3 of my gt555m ... and also if you use MSI afterburner with the OSD you can see if the GPU clocks and GPU usage go up high or not showing you if your using your dedicated graphics card or not :)

    To be honest, I'm really surprised by the performance of the Intel Graphics; I knew Ivy Bridge had a decent discrete graphics card, but not this good. And yes it was kind of lagging, but honestly I had it at 1980x1080 with all the graphics set to max and it was still playable; much more than my old laptop even with it's dedicated graphic card!

    I'm guessing if I lowered the resolution slightly or had it set the quality to high, not max, I probably wouldn't have even noticed it was using Intel Graphics.

    Ordered mine on the 18th of July, Ship date is listed as the 27th (was originally the 23rd). I ordered after Dell cancelled my order with them repeatedly without explanation. They begged me to reconsider. But if I get this one in a couple weeks, I'll be satisfied.

    My 209945U took 10 calendar days (technically 9 as I ordered around 11pm) from order to arrival. IMO that's pretty darn fast since it's shipped directly from Shanghai.

    Edit: nvm didnt see that this was for Canucks, carry on.

    so good news.. mine shipped yesterday :) its on the way :) hoping everything was built right and everything goes good in the shipping.. does anyone want a review from me on this laptop? im coming from the alienware m14x so let me know if you guys want a review and/or comparisons like pros and cons to the laptops :)

    Just picked mine up, it technically arrived on the 25th but wasn't at home to receive it and after some haggling on the phone, I managed to convince UPS to just keep it on one of their location and I'd go pick it up. So, Hello 23 seconds startup!! Still tweaking around the laptop but I like it so far save for the trackpad which doesn't seem to have scroll up/down enabled

    haha cant wait for mine.. hopefully 10 second bootup time.. SSD FTW!! :D ... and im guessing by removing all the stuff installed from factory and unnecessary startup programs :)

    3 aug to ship? or to arrive? mine should be in on the first.. they said its in customs right now.. just depends on when they release it .. im hoping soon :) i just hope i get the laptop this week :)

    I ordered my Y580 on July 22, and according to the online order status, it's set to ship on August 7th. For about a week after ordering, there was no order status, so I phone a rep and I was told that it would ship out absolute latest August 6th. I'll have to update later to see which source is the closest!

    hey guys.. got my y580 in ... crashes on games yet the gpu only hits a max of 69 degrees :S

    I've already picked out a cooling pad to use with this thing. I will be using it mostly as a desktop replacement, so it will be docked on my desk for the majority of its use, but at least a 3rd of the time, I'll have it in my lap somewhere. Probably won't be using the GTX660 while on battery!

    Still hasn't shipped yet tho :(

    Just got the e-mail that my laptop has shipped. Ordered on July 18th, shipped on Aug 3rd. We'll see how long it takes to make it to the rock... :)

    The tracking number they provided doesn't work (yet?)

    I just got off the chat line with Lenovo. They indicated that the tracking number won't work until the unit leaves Customs. Said it could take a couple more days before UPS can track it. :confused:

    Yeah, that number never worked for me. Had to ask Ty_Lenovo on Lenovo forums (I don't know if he has an account here) for a 1Z tracking number that worked. Just checked right now and the original tracking number provided still doesn't work and I've had my laptop for about 10 days.

    Tried to do the price match since it's 20 days after shipping date and they told me they don't do match price with coupons, only if the base price has lowered they do this.

    Well, they told you the wrong information because they are in the process of doing a price match with my 500GB 7200RPM model even though it isn't the one with a coupon. If anything doesn't go your way, ask to talk to a supervisor.

    Ok, just tried again and now they tell me to call Post Sales tomorrow and all I need is just to make sure I have a screenshot of the new price, my order number and that 30 days have not passed from the invoice date. I do hope this works since the coupon expires today. Thanks for the info.

    Same here! The chat customer service is really, really bad. I barely get any answers. I have that screenshot in hand and I really hope it's going to work. Can't beat that extra $200 off.

    How fast do Lenovo cancel orders? I ordered one thinking it would ship according to the estimated date on their website (August 17th) but the order status says September 13th which is impossible for me because I'll be well out of country by then. Will they have charged my card already? If I call them first thing in the morning, will they cancel the order? Anyone have experience with cancelling orders?

    The misleading estimated ship dates on their website are really annoying...

    Lenovo rep was beyond helpful, offered me some compensation and expedited shipping but couldn't guarantee I'd receive it by next Thursday (my flight) so I had to unfortunately cancel anyway. I don't see how it would have been completed before September anyway going by the experiences of everyone here.

    Help ? Ordered a IdeaPad Y580 Laptop on 14/08/12 from lenova Canada's website and had a problem because of my amazon order which blocked both orders.

    After settling everything with visa , they unblocked my account and told me you had to re-order everything again.

    I re-ordered another Y580 on 16/08/12 and its due 24/08/12 and says it processed , now and then I check the order status the first one says its blocked. I check today and the first one is unblocked which is a problem.

    I'm going to call the support number tomorrow and before doing that I was wondering if you guys could help me ? And btw the first one say that its shipment date is 30/08/12.
