I just received this in my email. Does this mean my laptop has been shipped today or what?

Yes, your laptop has been shipped. But when you track your order, you will see multiple locations of where your package is. For example, it can be in N.A. at one point and then back to Asia the next day. This is normal and you have nothing to worry about.

    I ordered on Dec 20 2007, got a confirmation on Dec 22 2007.

Called the January 8th 2008 to know the status of my order since Lenovo Canada doesn't provide ANY online information. They said that it was shipped on January 8th 2008

Now, I just received an email today. CONFIRMATION OF SHIPMENT on Jan 22, 2008. 30 DAYS AFTER MY ORDER!

I just called them 5 minutes ago and it was confirmed that it was just ONLY shipped today and should receive by January 28th 2008. If I don't get anything on by January 28th, I will be cancelling it.

So after all this, the ONLY thing that was true is the shipping date which was 30 DAYS after my order.

I can't imagine how it would go if there is something wrong with my laptop.

I have dealt with Dell many times and nothing like this ever happened.

This is ridiculous, this is the first and last time I wil lbe dealing with Lenovo.

Your computer isn't only the system being delayed. People had to wait more than 30 days during the July-August orders. There were mass delays back then. And Canada seems to have the worst of luck when it comes to shipments, sorry.

How do you track your order?
I don't think it's possible through the Canadian site

    I'm in the same boat.

Originally ordered 14th of Dec. Went through the website, everything was find, got confirm email. Waited a week, and called them, apparently order didn't go through ... OK

Well I got the sales guy to order it for me on the 21st. It's more than one month now, and nothing. I wanted a change in address too, and I haven't gotten any calls back or any emails regarding that. Lenovo is the slowest laptop company I've dealt with so far. If my call doesn't go well today, or get a discount or something, I'm cancelling the order and getting a Dell Vostro.

You are correct. It is not possible through the Canadian website. However, you may be able to track it through the courier's website if you get a tracking number for the order once it ships.

Anyhoo, as of late, the order delays are more or less limited to Canada. It appears to have started when Lenovo Canada implemented the CTO capabilities into the website.

If you browse a few other forums and their shipping threads, the majority of US customers have their CTO orders shipped a few days after the order was made. Example: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=21451&start=1650

Twitch, I assume you made your order during the pre/post boxing day sale? Keep a close eye on your credit card and/or any invoices Lenovo may send to you.

In my case, my order has yet to ship (waited 2 weeks so far), but Lenovo sent me a new order confirmation today without any discounts applied. That is, my order has a price quote that is now $300 more for the T61p configuration I ordered.

Did you ever get a shipping confirmation message?

I canceled my Dell 1420 order to get a T61 instead, now it seems to be a major mistake.

If this doesn't work out, I'm gonn aspend a bit more and get myself a Dell XPS M1330, have better customer service and receive it within 2 weeks.

The problem is that Lenovo Canada doesn't offer any tracking number.

Also, my order confirmation that I received showed the correct price with the boxing day rebate.

Yeah I just checked my mail now and I got a shipping confirm message identical to yours (no tracking number, just order #) which was sent yesterday. The thing that annoys me is that I called them about a week and a half ago, and they told me that it was already shipped (from China), and that I should get latest at a week. Almost 2 weeks later, and no response until yesterday.

EDIT: Just got a hold of a rep now, she told me that my order is being held up at the customs. I asked if they changed my address to my current one, and they haven't, despite two previous calls and "notes to the manager, shipper", whatever. I've had the exact same response now for two weeks regarding this address change.

I was told EXACTLY the same thing on Jan 8th, that my laptop has been shipped.

I called on Jan 18th, 2008, they told me I should receive it this week.

Now I find out the truth that the laptop was NEVER shipped until today.

Haha yeah that sounds exactly like me. I needed the laptop by early Jan, so I called them Jan 7th and they told me exactly what you said before. I'm using a loaner now because of the delay, and it's the slowest laptop ever (256 MB ram).

    Hey Folks,
I was just wondering how long one had to wait for the laptop to be shipped once they recieved their email confirming the shippment? Is this being shipped from China or Brampton? How long can I expect to wait after getting this email?

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for choosing Lenovo!

All or part of your order has shipped. In some instances your order may be shipped form more than one location, which will result in multiple notifications. You will only be invoiced for products that have shipped. For order status inquiries please contact us at :

Honestly, I never even got a confirmation email and my computer just showed up at my door, even the rep didn't know I got it. You best bet is to call them up and ask directly. Sometimes they are able to provide you with a UPS tracking number.
