I just can't resist the entice and ordered a 14" standard screen T61.

Upgraded the screen and warranty, came out as 1050 shipped with MI tax.

spec: Intel Core 2 Duo T7100, 1GB, 80GB, CDRW/DVD, 6-cell battery, 3 yr warranty SXGA+ for 830 + 119 (warranty). Is this the best we can get right now?

I have an X60s right now. Will either sell it or give it to my girlfriend. Her Dell x300 is pretty old...

I never had experience with 14" standard screen laptop before. the only 14" I've had is a T61 widescreen and I didn't really like it.

Care to post your specs, jor?

I'm probably going to buy a similar notebook later this evening as I think the 25%-off standard screens' deal expires at 11pm tonight.

I'm about to order a 14" T61p, since its available well equipped for just over $1000 - insane price for what you get with it.

    It's with 1yr warranty, right?

because the base price is 948$ for T61p...

    Am I missing anything?

    Mine is Intel Core 2 Duo T7100, 1GB, 80GB, CDRW/DVD, 6-cell battery, SXGA+ for 830 + 3yr warranty 120 = 950.

That 20% deal's gone now isn't it, vivek, so hope it was still around when you got to order.

jor, yes, I was wondering what combo battery/gpu you went with - an issue which occupied me for quite a while. In the end, I went with integrated/9 cell, possibly over-kill, but anyway....

    Hi ArchAngle,

the 9-cell will give you great battery life with integrated video card.

I can't care less about video card, so I went with X3100.

I found myself use the 4cell on my x60s more than the 8cell, simply because it doesn't extrude. so I bought the 6 cell...

But your choice will definitely give you over 5 hours, unplugged. that's fantastic.
