    Hi all

Just received my T520 this afternoon and wanted to upgrade to a Intel mSATA and chuck some more ram in.

I followed all official documentation and videos as to remove keyboard, removed proper screws, etc but it absolutely won't budge

What do I do now? I don't want to send it in -- its brand new today!

I'm using all of the force that I can without scaring myself.

Could I possibly take it to some shop that services ThinkPads and preferably under warranty

    Thanks would appreciate any suggestions

Well I have the screws removed and am trying to slide the keyboard forward towards the screen but it absolutely won't budge. I am thinking that it may have not been installed/seated properly at the factory. All of the videos I've watched showed them taking it off with relative ease. I'm nervous to try to pry it and don't know where to actually start prying if that is what is now necessary

The new keyboards do not need any prying. Try pushing forward holding the rectangular tab right between the power button and the blue thinkvantage button.

    This.

Removing my T420 keyboard was difficult the first time as well, StormShadow. Part of it was the keyboard can be tight, part of it was that the keyboards of my T61 and T400 removed differently than the new design.

Calm, slow, and steady is the way.

I've just had the same problem,

Solution is to loosen the 3 screws underneath the battery. as soon as this is done the keyboard slides toward the screen really easily.

Try holding it either at the buttons deck at the top or the arrow keys and FN key area at the bottom and push it forwards. The keyboard on my W520 came off as easily as the videos showed.
