Just spent 2 hrs. trying to output from my Y570 to an LG plasma, have latest Nvidia drivers installed, tried every solution on the net I could find and nothing has worked. Also did a search on this forum to no avail. Is it possible the hdmi is not working? Is there a separate driver that needs to be installed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.I'm out of ideas and patience

If you have neighbors who are friends, why not ask to see if you can plug your Y570 into their TV or go to a friends place. But having owned a faulty HDMI cable, it's probably your cable.

Have you tried rebooting with the HDMI connected? I had a similar problem on my U300s and the reboot while plugged in fixes it... happened twice for me.

I have had issues with sound and found that if I just change resolution real quick it fixes it.

Yea. On your laptop, just change the resolution the HDMI is outputting. Change to like 720p then back to 1080p and it should be fine.
