So I updated my machine to Win7 and installed the newest Hot Key Utilities from Lenovo. But I can not get the OSD to work when altering volume, display brightness, thinklight or anything else. The functions work but I would like for it to show up unless it's not supported on Win7 (oops). Also, am I suppose to have a "Thinkpad" folder on the program lists after clicking start because I remember seeing it on Vista but not on 7. Thanks.

I had a similar problem. What ultimately fixed it is by getting the onboard video driver directly from Lenovo, instead of installing the version Windows Update automatically pushes out when you first load the OS. Just install, run the program, and restart... your OSD should be working after that.

Thanks LegendaryKA8! I got the volume, brightness, and thinklight back. But it seems I've lost couple function key utilization since Win7 like F2, F7, and F9. Is that the case for everyone?

Hmm... if you're running a fresh install try downloading and running the Thinkvantage System Update. It'll grab most of your drivers, BIOS updates, and other software in one go, and should restore full functionality.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I was just implying locking windows using Fn+F2, Easy Eject via Fn+F9 and Presentation Display via Fn+F7 is lost.

Yeah... the update program detects and installs all of those programs as well. Otherwise just poke around the driver matrix site for the X200, they have those listed as well.

I have installed most (APS, sound, video, Intel Matrix storage, hotkey, trackpoint, Monitor ICM, Power Manger software) using the driver matrix site. My question is how can I get the software based wireless on/off switch using Fn+F5, and show the OSD for switching display using Fn+F7?

The only two drivers I didn't install is the wireless and Power Manger Driver. I didn't install those two because I thought the recent updates are just for supporting more recent Thinkpads. Does the Power Manger Driver really optimize for Thinkpads and improve battery life compared to the driver installed on Win7?

Edit: Just installed the power manager driver as it was missing under Device Manager.

Edit2: So it was the Power manager driver that wasn't making it work. SOLVED!!

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the wireless driver is needed to get the F5 function, at the very least. I think Presentation Manager is the one that controls the F7 OSD, but I'm not sure.

As far as I've heard the power manager driver is beneficial. I'm using it and I'm not really getting much of an ill effect, but I have Power Manager installed and don't use the Win7 stock software.
