Alright guys I need your help and I know it's gotta be an easy solution. I tried to install Windows XP Pro from a legit spare CD I have. I boot off the cd and as soon as I get to the Windows start screen, when I press enter I get a message saying no disk drives are available and I have to restart.
I tried booting from a Vista cd I purchased from Office Depot and I get the same message. Here's the kicker I booted the T60 off the original OS and I was able to install Vista from within Windows XP.
Ok so after I get Vista up and running with all current drivers I decided to go back and try to see if it would let me do a fresh XP install. Nope same error message as before saying there were no drives available.
Come to think of it I got the same message when I tried an HP 6000 notebook with preloaded bloatware.
Do the manufactures install or change some type of boot files on these drives so you can't access them without the original software?

If you have a SATA hard drive you will need to change it to 'compatability' mode in the BIOS. Windows XP will not see SATA drives natively.

Geez I knew it was something easy, thanks.
