Why when I try to customize a R400 or R500 are there no options for the processor!?!??!! the only option that shows is the most expensive T9600, no cheaper option.... what gives!

    You're doing it wrong.

I just went to lenovo.com and I was able to fully customize it.

Went to the website, hovered over products>laptops and netbooks>click on R series. Clicked on view models for R400, clicked customize, click on customize and buy..

Yeah, checking the Lenovo Canada site I'm getting the same issue as you. Except the R500 has the option of a "Intel Celeron T3000" for $220 less than the T9600.

Could be a Lenovo glitch, or stock issues.

    Lenovo's website sucks.
Check the Australian site out. You are asked to pay an extra unbelievable 10,674.40 AU$ for the LED back light option of X200s.
