Fresh install of Windows XP, using the various guides available on the internet. I've got the Atheros Wireless Radio (11a/b/g) in a T61 (7662-CTO) and the latest version of all the driver and no matter what happens, I cannot make the wireless work with me. With the master switch turned on, the WiFi light comes on solid, no blinking, which seems to indicate it isn't using the radio. Also, Access Connections insists the radio is off, as does the Fn+F5 menu, clicking the power on options in other program simply does nothing. If I tell Access Connections to scan for networks, it asks me to power up the radio, sits idle for a few seconds then displays a scan result showing no networks, which is definitely not the case. With Windows configured to manage wireless I can scan for and detect well over 10 APs, but it never connects to them, just stays at the little grey box saying "Waiting for network to be ready."
The Bluetooth radio and controls are working perfectly, I've tried removing and reinstalling every power management driver/utilty, the wireless drivers, Access Connections and reinstalling them in every order I can think of trying, and I can never get it to work. Hardwired ethernet works fine with or without Access Connections though.
Any ideas? Anymore information needed?
Thanks,
Matt
