Can I upgrade my warranty after I have already received my laptop or can I do it now without re-ordering (it hasnt shipped yet)?

As long as you do it before your initial warranty runs out you're fine.

So...it's like Apple where you can buy it at any time before the one year is up? Sounds good to me...but what is this 2 hours comment? Is it Lenovo sales or tech support that's terrible?

I had called Lenovo to upgrade my warranty and was put on hold for over an hour and not one live person came on. Try again on a different day and the same thing. No one seems to answer the phones the last 2+ weeks.

Thats because there are about 10,000 people all calling in asking where their T61 is....

Lenovo is usually very quick to answer the phones from what I have seen/heard in the past. Just these last few weeks have been tough because of all the notebook delays/issues.
