    Can you upgrade the processor on the R60e?

    If I buy a R60e with a celeron processor, can i upgrade the chip to a merom?

    You can, but in my opinion better do it now, for extra $120 you can have T5500

    well i'm getting a super deal on a already built system and need it only as a backup. Are you sure the merom will fit in a motherboard with a celeron?

    Depending on what you are doing it may or may not be worth it. Lenovo is likely to frown on it in terms of you warranty.

    well i'm purchasing a barebone system and wanted to see if I could upgrade the celeron processor if it's is not soldered in. I already have a spare hard drive and memory so it would be cost effective for me. All I need to know is if I could upgrade the processor later on the same motherboard. I'm thinking the celeron boards won't fit a merom.
