    Hi all,
Has anyone had experiences with ordering a lenovo thinkpad from the US lenovo site with a different keyboard?

A lot of european countries have special characters on their keyboards, but we are forced to pay up to 200% of the prices on the US lenovo site, if we buy it locally.

I couldnt find an email adress on the site to pose the question, so i would like to hear if anyone tried it? Or alternatively to order the keyboard seperately?

    thanks alot!

    Hi xyz,
I had the same problem as you. I'm originally from Germany but had to buy a thinkpad here in the US, since I needed a new laptop.
I decided to go with the custom US keyboard that I'm using right now and maybe replace it myself with a German keyboard (50-100 or so Euros new from eBAY) once I return home in the future. Replacing the keyboard is idiot-proof (if you search a little bit you will find step-by-step instructions somewhere on the Lenovo home page) and you can easily make up for the extra bucks for the replacement keyboard by taking advantage of the currently very weak $.
