If I order the T61, but something like, let's say, delivery keeps getting delayed and delayed, can you get a refund? Is there a refund policy?
    Thanks.

Just call and cancel the order. If you get any trouble, contact your credit card company to make sure a charge doesn't go through.

For those of you who jumped on the Meyers EPP bandwagon, assuming you get your systems, EPP purchases cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged. Period. But you can cancel if it's not shipped.

Well, I am using the EPP -- someone else (my brother works there). Does that mean once I order it, I am stuck with it even though it may not ship for 3 months? Or did you mean as long as I cancel it before it ships, I can get my money back?
    Thanks.

You can cancel anytime before it ships, or enters production. I find it hard to believe that anyone who just registered here in "May 2007" has nothing to do with Meyers EPP. Id like to see the spike in new accounts created on this forum the day the deal was posted

I don't have to prove myself to anybody, but I guarantee my brother works at IBM and his last name is not Myers -- I am just not stupid enough to give out my brother's ID and last name.

And, for your information, I registered here in May 2007 because I wanted advice on a new notebook that I am purchasing for my self-made business. Read some other posts throughout these forums and you will see I have nothing to do with "Meyers" -- in fact I was considering a Gateway, and may still if my T61 really doesn't ship until August.

It is more likely for people to join because the Meyer thing is really out there. Once you hear about EPP deal, you start asking family members about who works where.

quite true. my bad for jumping on you. i still believe that the majority of May registrants that spend time in this specific forum, and ask T61 questions only...are Meyers "buddies" and "family" members :)

Or maybe they came on board when the T61 was released? No need to assume anything.

I can tell you that I didn't know what you guys were talking about until I found that 40% off thread over in a different area that I hadn't visited till today. So no, I am not a friend of Meyers and didn't use the discount either.

Decided to shop for a laptop because my hubby just built 2 computers from scratch, one running Linux as our webserver and the other, a Windows machine that he will use primarily for email and to edit pictures to put on our webpage. I figured that if he can get 2 new computers, I can get a personal laptop myself. :D

Wanted a Thinkpad because I had used a T23 and T40 at work before my employer (a Fortune 50 company) gave the contract to Dell (which resulted in my current D600) ... now they are back to Lenovo with my co-workers now getting T60s. Who knows what I will end up with when my refresh date in March 2008 arrives. I wanted a small screen since it will spend 95% of the time hooked up to a KVM switch so I can use a full size keyboard and my 19" LCD at home along with my work laptop. The small screen will be nice when I do take it traveling e.g. on cruises that have wireless Internet now.

However, I've learned a lot since Saturday and I thank you all for that (especially Ski-Bunny). I hang out on the flute, cruise, and jewelry boards, but never thought I would post on a laptop board.

Thank you again to all of you.
