I have X201i which came with only TrackPoint. I am wondering if it's possible to replace the current palmrest with touchpad palmrest. Does anyone know if this will work or did anyone try it?

yes, it will work.   all X201 systems are set up for the trackpad whether they ship with them or not.

I have not found any settings for touchpad/trackpad in BIOS though. It only lists TrackPoint. Anyways, I am getting a palmrest with the touchpad next week and will give it a try.

BIOSes are identical across all X201 models (X201, X201i, X201s, and X201T).   there isn't a specific BIOS to models with and without trackpads.

I installed the TrackPad Palmrest with FingerPrint Reader. Clicking FN + F8 gives message to go into BIOS and enable both TrackPoint & TrackPad. Unfortunately, BIOS lists only TrackPoint. FingerPrint reader works fine. Anyone got any idea about this?

all i can suggest is reflashing the BIOS with the trackpad installed.

open the device manager and see if you have any unknown devices.

You might need to download the drivers for the touchpad if you haven't, already. I think there's one for the Trackpoint, then one for the Ultranav(the touchpad and trackpoint).

Nothing is listed as Unknown Device. Already installed UltraNav driver. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse driver along with UltraNav Utility without any luck. Prompts the same message to enable TrackPad from BIOS. I will try checking with Lenovo Support tonight and see what they says.

Another issue I am having is every time my power scheme changes (batter to power or vice-versa) a small transparent window pops up in the middle of screen to show Increased Power and it stays there for a while. There is no button to close it. Any idea how to disable that? It's kind of annoying since I cannot see or click anything behind that Window for a while.
