I have an S12 with XP that I purchased 3 weeks ago, and thought I read that I qualify for a Windows 7 upgrade, but then I read elsewhere that I don't.

How do I figure out which it is?

I don't know that it rises to the level of the sticky. I thought if you bought after the 26th of June and it wasn't refurbished, you qualified for the upgrade. I don't know, but I haven't been following it too closely as I have no plans to upgrade to W7. Maybe someone else with better info than I can speak up.

But if you purchase the Vista license w/ XP downgrade through Lenovo it is eligible for the free upgrade.

Vista downgrade licenses are not available on the Sxx series netbooks though, right.

I don't think a sticky is needed either.

XP Home can't downgraded from Vista, only XP Pro. It would seem you're not eligible.
