    I see T60 available in 14.1 " (1400x1050 & 1024x768)

So what is the difference? Is one widescreen and the other 4:3 standard?

    The T60 available in 15.0 " (1600x1200 & 1400x1050)

    Same question.

Also, what is the flewview, what models is it offered on, and what are the pros/cons. If there is another review of the flewview that would also be very helpful.

Also, has there been any news of Lenovo coming out with new T models before fall semester of this year (August/September)?

    Thanks!

Also, what is the difference in the memory upgrades offered in duo thinkpad models, specifically these upgrades:
1 GB included in base system
    1.25 GB (2 NonParity DDR2 SDRAM SoDIMM PC2-5300) [add $55.00]
    1.5 GB (2 NonParity DDR2 SDRAM SoDIMM PC2-5300) [add $100.00]
    2 GB (2 NonParity DDR2 SDRAM SoDIMM PC2-5300) [add $200.00]

Nonparity? what is upgraded from the base 1gb besides more ram?

Both resolutions in the 14.1 inch and both resolutions in the 15 inch are 4:3 standard (just do 1400 / 1050 = 1-1/3, and repeat for the other resolutions.

Flexview is offered on the 15" screens (I think all of them). Pros are that it is brighter and more viewable at lower angles than the non-flexview. See the review on this site of the Lenovo Thinkpad T60.

Haven't heard any rumors of new T models

thanks Ben! that was very helpful ;)

any idea why some of the upper T43 models are more expensive than better T60 models? well i guess that depends on how you define better. The pricing seems way off when comparing the different models offered here:

    http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/s...00001&catalogId=-840&langId=-1&re=tptlmbi_tab

    For example,

The ThinkPad T43p 2668G2U - at the very bottom of the page, costs $3,249.00.
With a Pentium M 2.13 ghz, 60 gb HD, and I have no idea what GPU that is. How is this over 1100$ more than for example the ThinkPad T60 200764U which has a 2.0 ghz duo with a larger HD and a nicer GPU...this does not make any sense.

what does the webprice mean, as far as the sales go? any idea if the sales are just marketing schemes?

Just different combinations of configurations. A high-end T43 with a 15", 1400x1050 screen, 1GB of RAM and nicer video card will be more than a T60 with a 14", 1024x768 screen and 512 MB RAM. Also, the T60s are not exactly immediately available, so there's no need for Lenovo to empty out their stock of T43s yet.

Sorry, I was rewriting that last post and I pressed tab so it deleted it :(

    Anyways, I will compare some:

    ThinkPad T60 200764U,
    Intel® Core Duo processor T2500 2GHz <New technology
    14.1"
    1400x1050
128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 <much better GPU
    1 GB RAM <more RAM
    100 GB HD <more space
    Bluetooth, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG <newer

    COST: $2,099.00

All other specs the same as,

    ThinkPad T43 266872U
    Intel® Pentium® M Processor 760 2GHz <older processor which is fading out
    14.1"
    1400x1050
64MB ATI Mobility RADEON x300 < weaker GPU
512 MB RAM < less RAM
80 GB HD < less space
    Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG < older

    COST: $2,409.00

    ----------------------------------------------------------
This is more what I was talking about

I am missing somthing because this isn't making sense to me. There are a few instances like this on the prices on that page

Ahh, the 200764U T60 is a current promotion that, I think, just started today. You'll notice that the regular price is $2949.

it just seems odd that they would nock off $900, it feels like a marketing scheme but maybe they made a mistake or just want to get them circulating?

Check out the prices versus specs on that page real quick, you'll notice that there are many instances of this nature

FlexView is an IPS screen which is brighter and has better contrast than the normal screens. It also has wider viewing angles and is more color consistant. It is offered on the T series 15" SXGA+ and UXGA+ models, not the XGA or the 14" models.
