It is against forum rules to mention specifics. Just google it and you will find it.

Actually I was wondering about that. I've read about the lenovo CPP discount, but is that truly allowed? (Not here, I meant with lenovo).
    Aren't there any restrictions?

It's claimed there are no restrictions. I've ordered several accessories via the website using CPP and it all ships just fine. Never any sort of verification. (I ordered my T400 through an institution specific program though due to better price; but accessory prices aren't that great under that program )

I have googled, already have a code. I asked, if there are any restrictions on using these.

    Thanks Lew. :)

I don't know if "CPP" is different than when it was "EPP" with ibm, but the epp discount was allowed to be shared with 'family and friends', so you didn't need to actually work there to legitimately get the discount. However, you supposedly were only allowed to order a certain number of computers per year per employee (I want to say 7 or 13). I don't think there was any restriction on accessories.

Yeah there's CPP, SPP and EPP ... CPP and EPP have same prices, are SPP prices even better? Do I need to buy a share of stock? lol

I'm sorry, maybe it has been mentioned before, but where exactly does it prohibit helping others get a discount?

Lenovo is offering EPP discount to the public for 2 days. (today and tomorrow)
Check their main site for their big banner. (I suppose you are in the US?)

It was sort of implied in OPs message about assisting in garnering a discount ;). Otherwise it would be what is CPP, etc...or is there any sale. Maybe I read too much into the original message.

I thought it's ok to share the code with friends and family, so why is it so taboo to list the code here? Isn't this community a big happy family? I can understand prohibiting requests, but why the problem with giving the code? If a simple google search will turn up a code, what is the harm in listing it here and saving a few keystrokes? I'm not trying to start any fights, just trying to understand the reasoning behind the rules.

I believe they define family as "direct relatives" and friends as in "personal friends" and not "distant friends."
If the codes are posted everywhere here, then there is no point in defining the sale as an "employee" purchase program as the prices/codes are already available for public use.
In this case of widespread use, it will only anger Lenovo as the use of these codes have became fraudulent and are no longer within its policies. At that point, I believe there would be more stringent rules or policies regarding the use of such EPP/CPP/SPP information.

Thank you, but I know how to read. I was asking WHY, which the sticky fails to explain. CPP codes can readily be found elsewhere, so I can't see why they are banned here.

your logic is a bit off, just cause it's readily found elsewhere does not make it legal or correct it's simple as that. For example, downloading movies and mp3 or copying copyright material... easily accessible, people talk about it but "physically" distributing/downloading/copying is illegal

Thank you for the explanation. I did not know it was illegal to distribute them; it was my understanding that they could be shared with family and friends.

Of course they "could be shared", but my understanding is that the person, WHO is sharing gotta be the person, who ORIGINALLY got the code. :), and not "friends" of "friends" of "friends" ...

    It's not a perfect world ...
