I broke the lcd screen on my x200 laptop and it's time to replace it. I found a great place to buy the lcd screen.

I'm wondering if I can install the led screen onto my x200 or will it be difficult to do so? I'd like to know as i'd love the extra screen space as well as the led back lighting.

Well anyone whose attempted this yet?

    Thanks

People have installed other screens, just not necessarily LED backlit...
    Search.

I tried it. It won't work, the connector is completely different. In general you can't use a LED screen in a laptop originally with CCFL screen.

I have been looking into this myself as my t61 screen is broken and I plan on replacing it myself. While it is not possible to simply replace the CCFL with an LED panel, does anyone know if it would work if you also installed an LED sub card, cable assemble, cover kit and bezel? I have a feeling it might just work, however these extra parts, (if you can even get them), will run aprox. another $200.00, plus the cost of the LED panel. So, probably not worth it. Would love to know if anyone knows for sure.

Because an LED screen is not inherently better I would just simply look for a high quality screen. Unless you just want to tinker :p.
