Can anyone identify this problem and a possible solution?

I am using an R400 running Windows 7 x64. Over the last few weeks, after returning from sleep, the notebook has a display error [bottom]. Everything other than the display is fully functional, and upon restart, the display functions correctly. Note that this does not occur every time the laptop returns from sleep; this happens every two days or so.

Is this a driver problem or something that can be remedied easily? If anyone needs more information to identify the problem, please ask.

It's the driver of your integrated graphics card (8.15.10.1968 presumably). The latest version causes this. Revert back to an older version, such as 8.15.10.1855, fixes it.

Most likely drivers having problems waking up. As above, try different drivers even if they are older.

I had the same issue returning from sleep. Did you install the graphics drivers from Windows Update or from the Lenovo website? The latter is what made mine do this. By just sticking to the drivers from Windows Update, it hasn't happened again.

A quick, temporary fix is to restart the computer; which I'm sure you've realized by now.
