I'm not sure if this is specific to the Canadian site or not, but the Thinkpad waranty options are very confusing. For instance:

ThinkPlus 2 Year EasyServ Total for 1 Year EasyServ ThinkPad
ThinkPlus 3 Year EasyServ Total for 1 Year EasyServ ThinkPad

What on earth does that mean. What's EasyServ Total and what's EasyServ ThinkPad? What's 2 or 3 years and what's 1 year?

    Or:
ThinkPlus 2 Year Onsite 9x5 Next Business Day Warranty and Maintenance Option

    What's the Maintenance Option?

There is nothing that explains what any of this means. There's a little "Help me Decide" popup, but it doesn't use any of these terms. For instance, what option do I need to select to get the Accidental Damage Protection (ADP)? It's not explicitly listed as an option anywhere I could see?

Any help would be much appreciated.

While your reply to rjbugati on that site might benefit him/ her now, can you post it here for the rest of us? And also to be searchable on this forum for future searchers?

    Thank you in advance!

easy serve means you mail or ship it in.
    onsite means what it says.

That's true. However, if the part is labeled as a CRU (customer replaceable unit), you have the option of the having the parts shipped to you. This is what I almost always do and it's far faster and easier.

    Sample CRU items:

    Hard drive/SSD
    Keyboard
    Palmrest
    Battery
    RAM
    Wireless Cards (optional CRU)

These and all other CRUs (as well as non-CRUs) are listed in the relevant maintenance manual for your ThinkPad. I suggest you download a copy (link in the sticky).

For what it's worth I have a 3-yr Easyserv warranty and recommend the same to anyone else that is spending a fair share (i.e. >$1000) on a ThinkPad. If something breaks down the line, you'll be glad you have it. Also, warranties tend to increase resale value a bit as well.
