One of my thinkpads x200s was bought earlier so not eligible for windows 7 upgrade, but I bought an x61s later, which is eligible. If I get the windows 7 discs for the x61s, can I instead use it on the x200s, and not on the x61s?

(will the discs only about the OS, or is it like rescue and recovery disc that includes the preloaded software? if the latter, then maybe it's not ok)

You're going to get an OEM copy of Windows 7, which legally is tied to the computer you purchased the upgrade with.

The OEM recovery media discs are automatically activated, so you can use it as many times as you want, provided that the laptop is similar to the machines that the discs were originally shipped with.
