I found a great deal on a T41, so I just picked it up. However the screen is only 1024x768. I do a lot of CAD work and really need the larger 1400x1050 screen. My computer has the ATI Radeon 7500 w/ 32mb.

So my question, is it just a matter of buying a new lcd screen? Is it a strait swap w/o having to change my video card?

Thanks. So far I love this comp though!

No it is not a straight swap. You have to change out other parts like the inverter as well. Screens are really expensive. Your best bet is probably to sell your T41 and buy one with SXGA.

Yeah I did a parts search and realized that there are two things that need to be changed, the scren and the cable. Just incase other people need the info I'll post it up:

    T41 xga:
    cover: 13R2569
    inverter: 26P8464
    hindges: 91p8388
    cable: 91P6786

    T41 sxga:
    cover: same
    hindges: same
    inverter: same
    cable: 91p6787

    screen: 11p8346/8

And your right, the lcd's are so expensive, I might just sell this and pick up a different one.
