I have a IdeaPad Y510 with a Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT. I was wondering if I could use the integrated graphics instead of the dedicated card. If there is, how to I do it?

No, the Y510 doesn't come with switchable graphics.

Your Nvidia driver should have the PowerMizer feature, which lowers the GPU's performance when it doesn't need any. Are you using the Lenovo driver? If yes, then I suggest you to use a driver from LV2G, the one from Lenovo is very old.

Check the Nvidia Control Panel to see if PowerMizer is working, some drivers from LV2G are optimized for gaming and the PowerMizer doesn't work.

I'm using 169.28, it's the coolest temperature driver I've tried so far. It's not the best for gaming, but all the features like PowerMizer work. If you don't play any heavy games, then maybe you want to give this one a try.
