    Can I make recovery discs with just CDs?

    Hey, i didn't get the DVD-RW drive. Can I make recovery discs with CDs. I tried starting the back up, but it stops while creating Prodcut Recovery Disc 2.

    Has anyone else had this problem? Know how to get aroudn it.

    I might just go straight to the clean install anyways.

    I once did a recovery disk set on a Compaq and it would of taken (1) one DL DVD, but I chose the (2) two DVD option. Alternatively, it gave an option for (11) eleven CDR's, which might of been taxing on the system.

    In your case, is your computer up to the task without depleting available resources? How about posting some specs?

    I tried using cds, the process failed, it then said I could only make one copy of recovery media and would not allow me to try again.

    I called tech support, they sent me premade dvds.

    If you have to call, make sure you call tech support, not customer service.

    I used CDs until I realized I had DVDs. So it was 7 CDs and 1 DVD.
